warum gehst du nicht in google bilder und verwendest diese als hintergrundbild?

manche gehen super ohne zu verwischen, musst du halt austesten

Selena was one of the most popular Mexican American singers of last decade. Though she lived for only 23 years, her offbeat songs with each of them drenched with a distinctive rhythm earned him a special place in the heart of millions of her fans from across the world.

Selena was born in Lake Jackson, Texas on April 16, 1971. Selena’s father Abraham Quintanilla was a Mexican while her mother Marcello Ofelia Samora belonged to Red Indian community. A prodigy, Selena took to music when she was only three and by the time she turned nine, she had begun to lead a singing group called “Selena Los Dinos” founded by her father (for her).

Selena’s dream of making it big in music industry suffered a jolt when her family went bankrupt when she was only 11.  In following years, Selena, along with her other family members, performed on street and in wedding parties to earn daily livelihood.

Economic constraints forced Selena to drop out of the school but she didn’t give in and continued her self-education on road and collected enough money from street performances to release a musical album. Unfortunately, nobody but her father went on to buy even a single copy of her album. Selena, however, continued to persevere and released another album next year and thankfully it did attract some buyers and thus gave a take-off to her professional career.

Selena’s days of struggle were eventually over when she won best female vocalist in Tejano music awards in 1987. Boosted by this recognition, Selena released two albums Preciosa and Dulce Amor in 1988. With fame also came money as Selena was signed by EMI in 1989.

In the following years, Selena’s popularity soared. Some went on to dub her new Gloria Estefan while others raved her as “Mexican Madonna.” In 1994, Selena was named the best selling Latin artist of the decade by the billboard. The award came for she churned out fourteen top-ten singles of which seven went on to occupy top position on billboard’s top Latin songs chart. Some of her most successful singles are “Amor Prohibido” and “No Me Queda Mas.”

Selena was only 23 when she was killed by Yoland Saldivar, the president of her fan club in 1995. Two weeks later, paying homage to her, George W. Bush who was governor of Texas then,  went on to declare her birthday as “Selena day” in Texas.
